Man arrested and charged over ‘crossbow disturbance’ in busy Scots street

A MAN has been arrested and charged after he was allegedly caught brandishing a crossbow in a busy Scots street.

Scores of armed police officers were seen in the Lang Stracht area of Aberdeen on Friday, December 27, after the alarm was raised at around 2.20pm.

A 44-year-old man allegedly caused a disturbance after he was caught holding a crossbow.

Cops have since arrested and charged him in connection with the incident.

The force determined there was “no wider risk to the public”.

A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.

The man is due to appear at Aberdeen Sheriff Court on Monday, December 30.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 2.20pm on Friday, 27 December, 2024, we were called to a report of a 44-year-old man causing a disturbance in the Lang Stracht area of Aberdeen.

“Officers attended and he was arrested and charged in connection with the incident. 

“There was no wider risk to the public.

“A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal and he is expected to appear at Aberdeen Sheriff Court on Monday, 30 December, 2024.”
