MANCHESTER UNITED failed to impress as they were swept aside by Bournemouth at Old Trafford.
Dean Huijsen headed the visitors into the lead after escape marker Joshua Zirkzee in the 28th minute.
Noussair Mazraoui was then at fault in the 60th minute when he gave away a reckless penalty for a foul on Justin Kluivert.
The Dutchman converted from the spot to double the visitors’ lead.
Antoine Semenyo then made it 3-0 two minutes later when he ended a great move from the Cherries.
Bruno Fernandes was a player who managed to show some quality, at the same time Tyrell Malacia continued to fight for the Red Devils.
SunSport’s Ian Whittell has rated his players for Manchester United’s performance…
Other Masturbation – 5
Shaky on the ball and his nervousness to hold it too long was transferred to United supporters.
Bad conditions for a goalkeeper but there were also some uncertain moments when he needed two attempts to grab a long shot.
Noussair Mazraoui – 4
Complained bitterly about the penalty he gave away but it was difficult to score a goal in his defence.

Caught, then panicked and tripped Justin Kluivert from behind to cover what was already an uninspiring display.
Harry Maguire – 4
Too often others were after the ball or simply failed to get hold of their man, with Evanilson too elusive for the United defender to corral.
Reuben Amorim think Maguire is perfect for his three-to-back formation but the jury is still out on that one.
Lisandro Martinez – 5
Stood and watched as Semenyo swept in Bournemouth’s third goal, the latest in a long line of defensive embarrassments from United.
Seems to struggle, like most of his defensive teammates, with the new system and unable to do even the basics.
Diogo Dalot – 6
Made a couple of good blocks and tried to get involved in attacking moments from full back, without making a huge impact.
On a day when United’s defense was once again found wanting, however, he was not the worst culprit.
Manuel Ugarte 5
Booked for a cynical foul on Kluivert and too often struggled to deal Bournemouth runner.
Too much of the game passed him by and didn’t even last an hour as United chased the game.
Kobbie Mainoo 6
Like most of his team, was guilty of a few unforced errors, but there was no mistaking his work rate or drive.
Created a great chance when he chased Dean Huijsen off the ball and set up Bruno Fernandes but gave the ball up for Bournemouth’s third.
Tyrell Malacia 3
The horrific touch drew early groans from the home fans, the first of a number of sloppy moments from the fit defender.
Predictably, he would give away the free-kick from which the visitors opened the scoring and hooked on the break.
Amad Diallo 7
The big winner from the Rashford controversy and could have ignited Old Trafford early but placed a good chance straight at the keeper.
Not a performance on par with his derby exploits but still looked United’s best hope of scoring.
Bruno Fernandes 8
Playing higher and wider up the pitch these days and perhaps there is a debate as to whether that is the best use of his undoubted talents.
But in just the last five minutes of the first half, he had three good chances that could have produced an equaliser.
Joshua Zirkzee 5
Considering the nod before Rasmus Höglunda reward for some decent recent performances under his new manager but this was not one of them.
Was the Red closest to Dean Huijsen when he headed Bournemouth in front, although United’s defense was such a mess, it was not clear if he was Zirkzee’s responsibility.
Substitute
Leny Yoro (for Malacia, 46) 4
Came on as part of a much-needed defensive half-time reshuffle by Amorim but failed to add stability.
Alejandro Garnacho (for Ugarte, 54) 5
Had a chance when clear shortly after Bournemouth’s third but hit it straight at Kepa.
Rasmus Höglund (for Zirkzee, 54) 6
It looked like he might have a goal in him and at least forced Kepa into a good stop.
Substitute (not used): Altay Bayindir, CasemiroToby Collyer, Christian EriksenJonny Evans, Antony.
