Traffic restrictions on November 10 due to the marathon

Mangaluru: Mangaluru police have imposed traffic restrictions for Niveus Mangalore Marathon 2024, held on Sunday. City Police Commissioner Anupam Agrawal said the traffic advisory will be in place from 4 am to 10 am due to the marathon. More than 5,000 athletes are expected to participate in the marathon organized by the Mangalore Runners Club.
The marathon starts from Mangala Stadium and proceeds through Narayana Guru Circle (Ladyhill), Chilimbi, Urwa Store, Kottara Chowki, Kodikal Cross, Kulur, KIOCL Junction and along the NMPT service road, turning at Dixie Cross towards Panambur Beach Road, then returning to Dixie Cross, KIOCL Junction, and heading to Tannirbavi Beach, before finally terminating at Mangala Stadium via Kottara Chowki and Ladyhill. In this regard, vehicle traffic and parking restrictions and changes have been implemented in the city.
The commissioner said that all type of vehicular traffic and parking was prohibited from Mannagudda towards Narayana Guru Circle (Ladyhill), Urwa Market towards Narayana Guru Circle (Ladyhill), KSRTC via Lal Bagh towards Narayana Guru Circle, Narayana Guru Circle (Ladyhill) to Kottara Chowki, on the service road from Kottara Chowki towards Kodikal Cross, Kodikal Cross to Kulur New Bridge and Tannirbavi Beach Road up to Tannirbavi Beach.
Vehicles from all road crossings on the left side of the marathon route are prohibited from entering the main road where the marathon takes place.
As for alternative routes, he said, vehicles traveling from PVS towards Narayana Guru Circle should use the route via Lalbaghg-KSRTC. Vehicles traveling from Kudroli Mannagudda and Urwa Market towards Narayana Guru Circle (Ladyhill) should use the route via Mannagudda-Ballalbagh/ Nehru Avenue Road-Lal Bagh-KSRTC.
Vehicles moving from KSRTC towards Udupi should use the route via Bejai Kapikad and Kuntikana. Vehicles from KPT/Kuntikana towards Udupi should turn right near Kodikal Cross flyover and proceed towards the one way road of Kulur Kottara Cross, then turn left at the end of the flyover near Kulur Old Bridge and proceed via Kulur New Bridge through KIOCL.
All vehicles coming from Kavoor-Panjimogaru should use the Indian Oil Pump service road to proceed towards Udupi. Vehicles coming from Ashok Nagar, Shediguri, Dambel and Sultan Battery should proceed via Urwa Market and Mannagudda.
