A warehouse employee for a renowned parcel delivery company tragically lost his life after his motorcycle veered off course and collided with a central street lamp. Four boxes of cannabis were found in his bag, and an EM ankle bracelet was discovered on his right ankle.

At 3.30am today, July 10, Police Lieutenant Jirawat Ongsa of Phra Samut Chedi Police Station received a report of a motorcycle accident on the central reservation at the entrance of Soi Suksawat 92, Moo 1, Pak Khlong Bang Pla Kot, Phra Samut Chedi District, Samut Prakan Province.

The officer arrived at the scene with a forensic doctor from Phra Samut Chedi Sawatyanon Hospital and a volunteer team from the Poh Teck Tung Foundation.

The deceased was identified as 42 year old Anucha. He was found wearing a short-sleeved T-shirt and long jeans, with notable injuries including a fractured skull, a broken neck, and a wound below the right knee.

The presence of an EM (Electronic Monitoring) ankle bracelet was noted on his right ankle. He was lying face down against the street lamp where the accident occurred.

Approximately 5 metres from the body, a Honda Wave motorcycle with the registration number 2ขห504, Bangkok, was found overturned with damage along its right side. A black backpack was also discovered at the scene.

Inside the backpack, police found one bag of instant coffee, two packs of cigarettes, four plastic containers of cannabis, and a set of house keys.

Evidence at the scene indicated the motorcycle had struck the central reservation, causing it to skid before the fatal collision with the lamp post, leaving a trail of impact signs extending 10 metres from the point of collision to where the body was found and another 5 metres to the fallen motorcycle.

Fatal collision

CCTV footage near the scene confirmed that Anucha was riding alone when the accident occurred. He lost control of the motorcycle, leading to the tragic incident.

The motorcycle owner revealed that Anucha had borrowed the vehicle for about two months to commute to his job at a warehouse for a parcel delivery company located in Soi Suksawat 74.

Sunisa, a 38 year old noodle vendor who witnessed the accident, recounted that she was closing her stall when she heard a loud noise. Turning to look, she saw the motorcycle losing control and crashing into the central reservation’s street lamp.

“I rushed to help him, calling out and urging him to think of his parents. Blood was pouring from his ears and head. I tried my best to help, never expecting to witness someone die right in front of me.”

Asanukool, a 56 year old security guard, was on duty near the scene. He reported hearing the crash and quickly turning to see the motorcycle hit the central reservation and then the street lamp, reported KhaoSod.

“I ran over and immediately called the emergency hotline 1669 for help. Initially, his condition was very severe, with shallow breathing and a lot of blood loss.”
