NFL makes final punishment decision on Chase Brown after Cincinnati Bengals star was cited for ‘illegal’

NFL CHIEFS have made a final punishment decision on Chase Brown after the Cincinnati Bengals star was cited for an “illegal” celebration.

The 24-year-old running back has been one of his NFL team’s star men so far this season.

The 2023 round 5 draft pick has helped the Bengals to six wins in the AFC North.

And Brown played a big role in last night’s 37-27 win at the home of the Tennessee Titans.

But ahead of that match, he was issued a fine for unsportsmanlike conduct due to an “illegal celebration” in the previous win over the Dallas Cowboys.

A week ago, Brown starred as his side landed a 27-20 victory in Texas.

The ace hit a magnificent touchdown to send the away fans wild.

And he celebrated by running along the field before jumping into the giant red Salvation Army kettle.

Brown spread his arms out wide as he posed for pictures.

But he has now been made to cough up a fine worth $5,481 for unsportsmanlike conduct, which is defined as illegal celebrations and/or vulgar acts.

That’s despite Brown appearing to copy the iconic celebration from Cowboy Ezekiel Elliott.

The NFL icon loved nothing more than jumping into the kettle.

He was never punished for his behaviour, leaving fans confused[/caption]

Yet Elliott, who rejoined the Cowboys this year from the New England Patriots following a previous six-year spell in Texas, never received a punishment for the act.

Fans were certainly left confused by the decision to fine Brown for emulating Elliott.

One said: “So he got fined for doing what Cowboys players do when they score a touchdown? Got it.”

Another declared: “What was the vulgar act?”

One noted: “They’re asking for it by putting the kettle there.”

Another added: “As a Cowboys fan, how in the world was that a fine?”
