THE NFL has made a final decision on the punishment Tom Brady after his controversial remarks.
The seven-time Super Bowl champion landed himself in hot water after he criticized the ejection of Brian Branch live on Fox.

Controversy surrounded Brady, 47, as he slammed the referee who dismissed Branch in the Detroit Lions’ 24-14 victory over the Green Bay Packers.
The decision was a controversial one, as he was ejected for unnecessary roughness.
The decision came after he hit Packers receiver Bo Melton in the head on an incomplete pass.
And Brady admitted he was not a fan of the decision.
He said on commentary: “I don’t love that call at all.
“I mean, obviously, it’s a penalty, but, to me, that has to be serious intent in a game like this.”
He must stick to certain rules due to his owner status, including criticism of NFL referees.
The restriction claims that Brady is: “Prohibited from publicly criticizing game officials and other teams” while broadcasting games.
However, he managed to get away with his comments, and Fox decided not to punish the star.
Brady, who has a $375million 10-year deal with Fox to call NFL games, was also caught up in controversy for comments made last week.
He had labelled Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen as “a spaz” live on air.
What other rules my Brady stick too
Here is a list of the other rules Brady must comply to…
- Not permitted to be in another team’s facility
- Not permitted to witness practice
- Not permitted to attend broadcast production meetings, either in person or virtually
- Prohibited from publicly criticizing game officials and other teams
- Subject to the league’s gambling policy
- Subject to the league’s anti-tampering policies, limiting him to “strictly social communication with members of other clubs”
The former New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback said: “Sometimes he played like a spaz, like a grade-schooler on a sugar high, but now he’s controlled the chaos.
“He’s like a storm coming into town and you don’t want that storm coming into this town.”
The Tom Brady domino effect
Tom Brady will take his seat in Fox’s top NFL announce team alongside Kevin Burkhardt.
And his arrival at the network has set off a domino effect with every other announcer moving down one spot.
That means Fox’s NFL coverage in 2024 will feature entirely new broadcast pairings.
Greg Olsen, who previously worked alongside Burkhardt, will now be part of the No. 2 announce team with Joe Davis.
The other Fox pairings for 2024 are:
- Adam Amin-Mark Sanchez
- Kenny Albert-Jon Vilma
- Kevin Kugler-Daryl Johnston
- Chris Myers-Mark Schlereth
