Nicole Kidman, who has been making headlines with her stunning back-to-back, reveals she almost quit acting in 2008.
During a recent interview with CBS News, the Baby The actress revealed that she almost quit her career after welcoming first child, Sunday Rose, with husband Keith Urban.
“When I gave birth to (Sunday Kidman-Urban) I thought ‘well, I think I’m pretty much done now,’” she told the news agency.
However, it was her late mother, Janelle Ann Kidman, who encouraged her to pursue acting.
“We lived on a farm and that’s when my mom said, ‘I wasn’t going to give up completely. Keep a finger in it,’” she shared.
Kidman continued, “And I say, ‘No, no.’ I’m done now. I’m done.’ She says, “Just listen to me. Keep moving forward. Not saying you have to do it to the level you’ve done it, but I wouldn’t give it up completely.’”
“It came from a woman who came from a generation that didn’t have the opportunities that I had, that she had helped create for her daughters. So it’s probably something that she wished she’d had when she was little,” she added.
After listening to her mother’s advice, Kidman received an Oscar for Best Actress Rabbit hole year 2010.
In addition to Sunday, Nicole Kidman also shares daughter Faith Margaret with Urban and daughter Bella and son Connor with ex-husband Tom Cruise.
