MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) – Cosmetology students at Northern Michigan University are offering veterans free cuts for Veterans Day.
The NMU Cosmetology Centre will offer haircuts, manicures and pedicures and provide refreshments, including drinks and cake, for attendees.
Michelle Whitaker, an NMU cosmetology and esthetics instructor, said it is important to remember those who have served and what they have done for us.
“Serve us, protect us, protect our communities, protect our country,” Whitaker said. “We just want them to be recognized as they should be, and we want to thank them for their service.”
The Cosmetology Center encourages interested parties to call and schedule an appointment at (906) 227-2383. However, walk-ins are accepted. Services are from 10:00 AM to 2:30 PM at Northern Center Suite 1205 on Veterans Day.
After Veterans Day, the NMU Cosmetology Center will launch Toys for Tots and NMU Food Drives. Any customer who brings in an unwrapped toy or non-perishable food can have a free selection service made.
