NEP 2020 to transform education in Odisha schools
The Government of Odisha on Wednesday issued a notification for implementation of National education policy (NEP)-2020 in all schools in the state.
The government also decided to adopt National Curriculum Framework with local contextualization.
After careful consideration, in the interest of strengthening the education system in the state, the government is pleased to order that the National Policy on Education 2020, issued by the Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India, will be implemented in the state from Odisha, read the notification from School and Mass Education Department.
Notably, in November last year, the state government announced the implementation of the NEP in full state universities and affiliated colleges from the current academic year.
The state Higher education The department had issued a notification for implementation of NEP in all undergraduate (UG) courses offered by higher education institutions under the administrative control of the department, starting from the academic session 2024-25.
The implementation of the National Education Policy 2020 aims to transform the higher education landscape to promote multidisciplinary learningskills development, choice-based credit systemmultiple entrances and exits and greater flexibility in the education, according to the notification.
