One person from Chipinge Junior Primary School has been confirmed dead in a bus accident as some students and teachers were travelling from Harare to Rusape for school activities.
Earlier today, a tragic accident occurred on the Harare–Mutare highway involving a Gold Class Coach carrying students from Chipinge Junior Primary School. The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has confirmed that one life was lost, and numerous passengers sustained injuries in the crash.
Details of the Incident
The bus, which was transporting 53 students along with seven staff members from Chipinge Junior Primary School, was en route from Harare to Rusape when the accident happened.

According to reports, as the bus approached the 165-kilometer mark on the Harare–Mutare Road, the driver attempted to overtake a haulage truck but lost control due to excessive speed. This caused the vehicle to veer off the road, overturn, and ultimately land on its left side, facing north.

The tragic incident has sparked an outpouring of concern from the local community and authorities. Zimbabwean police officials have urged drivers to exercise caution, especially when carrying passengers and navigating high-speed routes.
