The Royal Thai Army’s Veterinary & Remount Department is rolling out the red carpet for an unusual auction tomorrow in the heart of Nakhon Ratchasima’s Pak Chong district. Some 64 furry recruits are up for grabs, having failed to cut elite service dogs.
On the auction block are two prestigious breeds: German Shepherds and Belgian Malinois. Prospective parents can choose from nine strapping male and sixteen graceful female German Shepherds, as well as 23 sprightly male and 16 eager female Belgian Malinois. These pooches, aged between a sprightly 2.9 to a mature 3.3 years, went through rigorous training but didn’t quite make the military grade, all thanks to being overly friendly or not hitting the army’s weight requirements, reported Bangkok Post.
For those keen to give these loveable dogs a forever home, don’t forget to come armed with a copy of your ID and snapshots of the digs where these canines will be living it up.

Two golden retrievers, a female named Sierra and a male named Sahara, were sent to assist in one of the biggest earthquakes at the border of Turkey and Syria in February last year. The disaster destroyed over 100,000 homes and caused the deaths of more than 53,000 people.
The two dogs helped their handlers locate survivors buried under the rubble. In addition to searching for victims, the dogs brought smiles to those affected by the tragedy and encouraged them to persevere through hardship.
Thai people were also proud of Sierra and Sahara’s participation and loved them. The cute little shoes the dogs wore to protect their paws during the operation were another reason they went viral on social media, as netizens found them even more adorable in shoes.
