Waterloo Regional Police continue to investigate multiple burglaries and break-ins in the region they believe are linked to the same group.
Between December 16 and 17, the police were called to several burglaries. In many of the cases, the suspects forced their way in by either breaking windows or doors to the addresses, early in the morning.
On Dec. 16, around 4:25 a.m., a plaza in the area of Hespeler Road and Sheldon Drive in Cambridge had three breaks and enters, according to police.
They said five suspects would break the front glass to gain entry and enter the businesses on the plaza before stealing from cash registers.
About an hour later, police said a plaza near University Avenue West and King Street North in Waterloo was also hit, with four businesses broken into and their cash registers targeted.
Police believe the same group was responsible for both incidents.
