Quaker Oats Announces Aunt Jemima’s Return on Syrup Bottles in 2025: Viral News Debunked

Quaker Oats has announced that Aunt Jemima will make a comeback on syrup bottles in 2025! Viral News Debunked

There are rumours flying fast and thick that Quaker Oats is bringing back its Aunt Jemima brand in a new avatar of syrup bottles and pancake mixes.

The claims first surfaced on Facebook when a site known as America’s Last Line of Defense in a post claimed that the company is relaunching the old branding in 2025. It also stated that the boycott against the new branding is bearing fruit.

The rumours also made their way to the social media platform X, and many users posted that Quaker Oats is re-launching its old branding.

‘Boycotts work!!! Quaker has announced Aunt Jemima Will Be Back On Syrup Bottles In 2025: ‘Our Customers Have Spoken’

However, it has been confirmed as fake news, and the post has been checked by the fact-checking website Snopes.com, which confirmed that it is satire and not factual news. The website which first spread the news is a satirical website and has in the past also peddled false news. The website ‘America’s Last Line Of Defense’ in its bio clearly states that ‘Nothing on this page is real’ and also calls itself a ‘Network of trolley’.

There is also no shred of evidence that Quaker Oats is re-launching its old branding. PepsiCo, which owns Quaker Oats, official website also does not contain any reference to the branding, and no mainstream media houses have reported the news of the re-launch.

Website ‘America’s Last Line Of Defense’ had shared the story on Dunning-Kruger Times, and reading the story, there are many hints that the story is a work of satire, and it began as follows-

“Quaker has announced that Aunt Jemima will be back on syrup bottles in 2025: Our customers have spoken.”

You heard it here first, patriots. Quaker Oats, the parent company of the Pearl Milling Company, the former owner of the Aunt Jemima Brand, will revive the iconic cook on its boxes and syrup bottles starting next year sometime.”

Aunt Jemima Inspired By A Song

The company was founded in 1888 by the name of Pearl Milling Company, and it introduced Aunt Jemima pancake mix after the 1875 iconic song Old Aunt Jemima, and the brand’s logo was an older Black woman also known as ‘Mammy’ who served white customers.

The original logo featured a Black woman wearing a headscarf, which is akin to the ‘Mammy’ design. Later the headscarf changed to a headband, and this was also omitted in the latest version, which featured the character wearing pearl earrings and a lace collar.
