Showers may occur in the North, North and Central, Eastern provinces and in Matale district, the forecasting department of the National Meteorological Center said.
Showers or thundershowers may occur at a few places in Western, Sabaragamuwa, South North West and Uva provinces as well as Nuwara-Eliya and Kandy districts during the evening or night.
Foggy conditions are expected at some places in Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Southern and Uva provinces during the morning.
The public is advised to take appropriate precautions to minimize damage caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thunderstorms.
