Simone Biles reacted to the presidential election results by calling out President Joe Biden.
The Olympic gold medalist encouraged the 46th president to take action in the final months of his presidency after Kamala Harris lost to Donald Trump.
“Mr. Biden, I need you to stand up, straighten your back and shake things up before you go,” Biles wrote via X on Wednesday.
She captioned the message “xoxo the women of America .”
President-elect Trump — who previously won the 2016 election — was exclaimed the winner over Vice President Harris early Wednesday morning.
Shortly thereafter, Biles shared her emotional reaction to Trump’s victory on Threads.
“you’ve got to be f-king kidding me,” she wrote, adding, “I’m SO sorry, America.”
The elite gymnast, 27, also wrote, “we deserve better .”
Hours after Biles’ call for Biden, Commander-in-Chief Harris, 60, applauded for her. concession number at Howard University this afternoon.
“What America saw today was Kamala Harris whom I know and admire deeply. She has been a great partner and public servant full of integrity, courage and character,” he said in the statement divided by X.
“Under extraordinary circumstances, she stepped up and led a historic campaign that embodied what is possible when guided by a strong moral compass and a clear vision for a nation that is freer, fairer and full of more opportunity for all Americans.”
Biden, 81, went on to say that chose Harris as his vice president was the “very first decision” he made when he became the Democratic presidential nominee in 2020.
“It was the best decision I made. Her story represents the best of America’s history. And as she made clear today, I have no doubt she will continue to write that story,” he continued.
“She will continue the fight with purpose, determination and joy. She will continue to be a champion for all Americans. Above all, she will continue to be a leader our children will look up to for generations to come as she sets her mark on America’s future.”
Along with Biles, other celebrities and public figures have also shared their reactions to Trump, 78, returning to the White House in 2025.
“Please unfollow me if you voted against women’s rights. Against disability rights. Yes it is. Unfollow me because what you did is unreal. Don’t want followers like this,” Christina Applegate posted on X Wednesday morning.
Meanwhile, Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy claimed Democrats left him “no choice” but to vote for the former president.
“It was the worst campaign and their sheer arrogance and moral superiority has driven people away,” he said in a “rant” on Instagram Tuesday evening.
