Viral news has been circulating for some time about well-known TV personality Steve Harvey’s death at the age of 57.

As per media house Geo News, several smartphone users started getting notifications detailing the demise of Steve Harvey.
It is still unclear where the rumours originated.
However, it has now been established that it is fake news and Steve Harvey is very much alive, hale, and hearty.
Many netizens also reasoned that it was a virus that led users to click on the NewsBreak link.
One such user (@descipleblake) tweeted:
“Got a notification on my phone that Steve Harvey passed away… then some virus shit popped up and started scanning. Wtf is going on?”
A second user wrote:
“Morning, did anyone else wake up to news that Steve Harvey passed away and it was a spam or virus link?”
Karen Brown, a Facebook user, warned fellow netizens not to click on the suspicious link or else they would download a virus once clicked.
The second fact, which is most glaring and proves that the news is fake, is that it mentions Steve Harvey’s age as 57 years, whereas in reality, he is 67 years old.
Also, no major news channels or media outlets have received any official confirmation of the news, which proves that the news is fake and the TV host and humorist is very much alive.
This is not the first time that Steve Harvey has become a victim of a death hoax.
A similar incident happened, and news was all over the internet that Harvey was dead.
The fake narrative first surfaced in July but became viral in August and September, with many netizens even expressing their condolences and paying tributes to Steve Harvey.
The process only stopped when fact-finding site Dubawa reported that the viral news was fake and the TV host was very much alive.

In March 2023, a YouTube video that claimed Harvey had passed away went viral and said:
“1 hour ago, American TV icon Steve Harvey suddenly died at home at the age of 66. Steve Harvey, born on January 17, 1957, in Welch, was an American actor, comedian, and television host. He died on March 4, 2023, at the age of 66.”
Snopes also unearthed the truth that the channel had posted similar false videos pertaining to the death of many personalities in the past, and the victims included Liam Neeson and Richard Gere.
