Teen run over at a ‘haunted hayride’ and left with horror injuries – tractor came to abrupt halt with wheel on her back

A TEEN was left pinned under a tractor after a Halloween “haunted hayride” took a shocking twist.

Giada Lanzieri was working on the ride when she was run over by a tractor and trapped under its wheel.

The shocking accident took place at Seven Cedars Farm Haunted Hayride in Smithfield, Rhode Island, on the night of October 28, 2023.

Now, a year later, Giada is reliving the moment her life changed forever.

The 14-year-old schoolgirl was working as a scare actor on the night of the accident.

That night, it was her job to jump onto the tractor and frighten the trailer full of visitors being towed behind.

“I don’t remember much, but I remember jumping on it,” she told local CBS affiliate WPRI.

At that moment, everything went black.

“Somehow the tractor wheel was on my back,” she said.

“I remember throwing up and everyone was saying to stop the tractor.”

Horrified visitors got off the ride and someone helped to lift the tractor wheel off the stricken teen.

At that moment, her parents were just a short drive away when they got the call just after 8 pm.

Robert and Kerri Lanzieri rushed off and ran through the woods to find their daughter.

Kerri recalled that when they got there, they discovered Giada had already been put in an ambulance and rushed to Hasbro Children’s Hospital.

In the ambulance, Kerri learned her daughter had reportedly been asking for her mom.

“That was probably one of the worst moments to have to experience as a parent,” she said.

Giada suffered a number of horror injuries, including concussion, internal trauma, and fractures to her lower extremities, according to her family.

When they got to the emergency room, Giada was a “shade of gray,” Kerri recalled.

Seven Cedars Farm’s Haunted Hayride cut its season short in response, while the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) launched an investigation into what happened.

The farm was reportedly cited for failing to “ensure that scare actor employees were protected from struck-by and crushing hazards.”

It was also cited for not having “an infirmary, clinic or hospital used for the treatment of injured employees.”

However, OSHA confirmed the second violation was dropped after a settlement was paid.

The farm was also ordered to pay a $7,000 fine and implement additional safety precautions to protect employees.

Its Haunted Hayride is back up and running this year.

The U.S. Sun has approached Seven Cedars Farm for comment.
