Tejashwi Yadav digs at Nitish Kumar. BJP responds

Taking a dig at the Nitish Kumar-led Bihar government, Leader of Opposition in the Bihar Legislative Assembly Tejashwi Yadav recently said that the Bihar Chief Minister is completely controlled by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Tejashwi also said that the Chief Minister Office (CMO) is controlled by the BJP leaders. Tejashwi’s comment came in the backdrop of the absence of BJP leaders in Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s ‘Pragati Yatra’.

He further alleged that four major leaders of BJP in Bihar, two of whom are in Delhi and two in Bihar, are directly in touch with Home Minister Amit Shah and control the political activities of the state.

However, BJP leader and Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar Samrat Chaudhary has hit back at Tejashwi’s comment saying that Lalu Prasad Yadav’s family is known for corruption and has looted Bihar. Terming Tejashwi’s statement as unfortunate, Samrat Chaudhary further said that Lalu Prasad Yadav first made such statements and now his family members are making such statements.

This is not the first time that former Deputy CM of Bihar Tejashwi Yadav and BJP leaders in Bihar have locked horns over the functioning of the Bihar government.

A few days ago, another Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar, Vijay Kumar Sinha, accused Tejashwi’s Rashtriya Janta Dal (RJD) party of rigging the 70th BPSC examination. Tejashwi responded by saying that if the RJD leaks papers, the current National Democratic Alliance (NDA)-led Bihar should catch them and put them in jail. Tejashwi also termed Sinha as a “useless” Dy CM.

“No one has seen a more useless deputy minister than him. They say RJD people are leaking papers, so catch them, shall we catch them? Show evidence, catch them and put them in jail with the help of CBI, IT and ED. Have they (the government) any achievements?… Today killings and looting continue, banks are looted and kidnappings are done mercy… These people are hurting Bihar,” Tejashwi said.

A few months ago, the BJP and the RJD were also involved in a verbal spat where the BJP accused Tejashwi of stealing sofas, beds and taps from the government bunglow at 5 Deshratna Road in Patna before vacating it. Terming the allegations as false, the RJD said the BJP, which is in the government, should release the list and after vacating the space, they should see whether the items are there or not.
