A tragic accident unfolded yesterday when a 10-wheeler crashed into the back of a truck carrying rice husks, resulting in the driver’s death at the wheel. Rescue teams employed cutting tools to retrieve the body from the wreckage.
Prasertsak Wiphanngern, a deputy inspector at Ang Thong Police Station, was notified of a collision involving two ten-wheeler trucks at 4pm yesterday, December 17. The fatal accident took place on the Pho Phraya-Tha Ruea Road, Sala Daeng subdistrict, Mueang district, Ang Thong province.
Upon receiving the report, Prasertsak informed his superiors and quickly proceeded to the scene with rescue personnel.
At the scene, a 10-wheeler with registration number 72-3257 Ayutthaya was found to have collided with the rear of another 10-wheeler truck with a trailer, bearing registration number 84-8934 Suphan Buri.
The front of the first truck was severely damaged and the driver was found dead at the wheel. Rescue workers used cutting equipment to extract the deceased driver from the cabin, but his identity has not yet been confirmed.
According to 29 year old Sert, the driver of the truck with the trailer, he was transporting rice husks from Suphan Buri to Saraburi. Upon reaching the accident site, traffic was congested, and the deceased driver was unable to brake in time, leading to the collision.
“The traffic was heavy, and the other driver couldn’t stop in time, resulting in the crash with my truck’s rear.”
