LSU football is red hot in the transfer portal.
According to ESPN, the Tigers have landed four of the top 12 players in the 2025 transfer class.
The top addition is former Kentucky wide receiver Barion Brown, who is ranked No. 7 in ESPN’s rankings.
“Brown has the complete package of size, speed and ball skills,” ESPN wrote.
Next up is former Virginia Tech cornerback Mansoor Delane, who is ranked No. 9 overall. ESPN wrote that Delane would be an early NFL draft pick if he chose to go pro.
Rounding out the top 12 is earlier Oklahoma wide receiver Nic Anderson and former Florida State defensive end Patrick Payton.
Payton has yet to officially sign with LSU, however reports show Baton Rouge is the destination.
Both Anderson and Payton fill major needs for LSU. Anderson was an impact player for Oklahoma in 2023, but injuries put a wrench in his 2024. Still, LSU gets the big receiver it needs on the outside.
With Payton, LSU gains a talented defensive end entering his fifth year of college football. Payton can rush the pass, defend the run and give LSU the power conference experience it needs on the edge.
