The event drew the attention of police, who issued the organizers a $500 citation for an “unpermitted costume contest. ”
As police struggled to contain the swelling crowd, one contestant was wheeled away in handcuffs. The NYPD would not comment on what charges were brought.

The Timothee Chalamet Look-Alike Contest Winner Would Win $50 As A Prize
YouTuber Anthony Po organized the doppelganger contest to crown the best Timothee Chalamet look-alike and offer a $50 prize.
Contestants showed up dressed as some of Chalamet’s most famous creations, from Dune’s Paul Atreides to Willy Wonka’s titular character.
Chalamet posed for photos with his high-cheeked, curly-haired doppelgängers, some of whom had dressed as characters that Chalamet had portrayed on screen.

The actor, 28, himself showed up, briefly posing with his “twins” amid heavy security.
When the gathering was dispersed from Washington Square Park, the crowd moved along to a playground where the contest continued.
Contestants participated in a lighthearted Q&A session with questions presented about their ability to speak French and their feelings regarding the Wonka star’s girlfriend, Kylie Jenner.
Miles Mitchell, dressed as Willy Wonka, was ultimately proclaimed the victor. The TV actor went back to work on his new sports drama, “Marty Supreme,” after the competition.
