Trackhouse Racing’s Full-Time NASCAR Cup Drivers Confirm 2025 Xfinity Roles

Ross Chastain and Shane van Gisbergen have been confirmed to appear in the NASCAR Xfinity Series for the 2025 season on top of their Cup Series commitments.

They’ve confirmed plans to drive the No. 9 Chevrolet Camaro for JR Motorsports in a number of races. Despite this, both drivers will continue their full-time commitments with Trackhouse Racing in the NASCAR Cup Series.

Ross Chastain has been with Trackhouse Racing since his full-time Cup Series debut and has shown impressive performances. In 2024 alone, he clinched five Cup Series victories, including a win at Kansas Speedway.

His journey in the Xfinity Series saw him achieve two wins, 24 top-five, and 53 top-ten finishes across 208 starts.

On the other hand, Shane van Gisbergen is relatively new to the NASCAR world, having made the move from the Supercars series. He performed admirably in his first full-time Xfinity season in 2024, securing victories at Portland, Sonoma, and Chicago, and achieving second place in the Rookie-of-the-Year standings.

JR Motorsports, led by owners Dale Earnhardt Jr., Kelley Earnhardt Miller, and Rick Hendrick, has built a robust stature in the NASCAR Xfinity Series for developing young talent and fielding competitive cars.

The No. 9 entry, which both Chastain and van Gisbergen will drive, is seen as an all-star car designed to support their full-time drivers, including reigning champion Justin Allgaier.

For the 2025 series, Chastain’s schedule begins at Circuit of the Americas on March 1. His planned appearances expand across tracks like Darlington Raceway and Nashville Superspeedway, culminating at Iowa Speedway on August 2.

Van Gisbergen will drive at Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez in Mexico City on June 14, the Chicago Street Course, Sonoma Raceway, and Watkins Glen International.

Speaking about the upcoming move, Chastain explained:

“I think there is a lot of benefit to getting seat time on Saturdays in the Xfinity Series.

“Getting an opportunity to do it with JR Motorsports is too good an opportunity to pass up. I know every time I climb in their Chevrolets, we will have a chance to win.”

Van Gisbergen also commented:

“I’m trying to get as much experience as I can.

“JR Motorsports is one of the top teams and won the championship with Justin Allgaier. I can’t wait to get started.”
