TRADER Joe’s customers are distraught after an employee confirmed the discontinuation of a popular dinner item.

The frozen food earned particular praise from customers as a relatively healthy side dish option to several main courses.

Some even said that the item, the Frozen Mashed Cauliflower, was grabbed up in packs of “8 at a time” by fellow shoppers at their local Trader Joe’s, per a recent thread on Facebook.

Trader Joe’s Frozen Mashed Cauliflower contains about 50 calories per serving, with two grams of fat, seven grams of carbohydrates, two grams of protein, two grams of fiber, three grams of sugar, and 270 milligrams of sodium.

It also cooks on a stovetop in minutes, and some nutritionists have even designed meals with it in the past that feature beef and rainbow carrots, per a post from Mia Syn (@nutritionbymia) on Instagram.

While it was beloved, some customers haven’t seen it at their nearest Trader Joe’s since last year.

BRING IT BACK

“Apparently, the frozen mashed cauliflower has been discontinued. We really liked it!” a shopper wrote in the Facebook thread.

“Just learned this today and am so sad!” another echoed.

“Same here, so disappointed! Can’t find an alternative,” noted a third.

Someone else called it a dinner “staple” and cried they were “so bummed” about the discontinuation.

“Wish I could have known and could have stocked up,” they added.

A Trader Joe’s shopper also noted that an employee confirmed the Frozen Mashed Cauliflower’s axing in a separate post on Reddit.

The U.S. Sun has contacted Trader Joe’s for more information on the reasoning behind the item’s discontinuation.

It isn’t surprising, however, as Trader Joe’s frequently removes food and drink options and re-stocks with others.

Many offerings are also seasonal, so they’re temporarily taken down only to be brought back again when the season calls for it.

Either way, Trader Joe’s customers are still upset to see items they love disappear.

Discontinued Trader Joe’s Products

Several Trader Joe’s items have been discontinued over the years, including:

  • Matcha Joe-Joe’s
  • Chile Lime Mayonnaise
  • Frozen Spinach Lasagna
  • Banana Waffles
  • Salted Caramel Gelato
  • Island Salsa
  • Cookie Butter Cheesecake
  • Chili Sesame Oil
  • Hi-Protein Veggie Burger

GONE FOR GOOD

In December, many mourned the loss of the Cheese Blintzes, a popular breakfast staple.

Some said they had included the Cheese Blintzes with strawberries and other toppings with breakfast for several years.

The Four Cheese Pastry Rolls were also recently removed without warning.

A few customers were upset, with some saying they were “infuriated” and others calling it a “backstab” from Trader Joe’s.

During the holiday season, a shopper was also stunned to see Trader Joe’s remove a popular coffee flavor for good, and even some staff “were surprised.”

Still, there are some new items for customers to try.

A $2.99 snack that’s a fresh take on a classic fan favorite is available now.

Some cheap pantry staples are also only $1.49 this month.
