Wallace & Gromit creator hints they’re working on another new animation – days before classic shows return

WALLACE & Gromit’s creator has hinted that they’re working on another new animation – days before the classic show is due to make a comeback.

Speaking to The Sun’s TV Mag, the show’s creator, Nick Park, answered the question on everyone’s lips – how long will we have to wait for a new Wallace & Gromit adventure, and will there be any more in the future?

“I hope so,” he said. “It would be lovely to carry on. It’s great that we have two characters that are so well-known and established now.

“And the dynamic works – you can almost give them any situation and you’ll get a comedy. So watch this space…”

We won’t have to wait long as the dynamic duo are back on Christmas Day with Vengeance Most Fowl.

Gromit is worried that Wallace’s inventions have gone too far when a smart gnome seems to develop a mind of its own.

In typical Wallace and Gromit style, things escalate quite quickly, and Wallace is wrongly labelled an evil inventor.

But who is the fowl force behind it all?

The animation will finally solve the driving force behind of Wallace’s cheese obsession.

He literally dreams about cheese all day long and reads about it in Cheese Holidays and Cheese Monthly magazines in A Grand Day Out.

He chooses the moon after considering Lancashire, Cheddar, Wensleydale, Philadelphia, and Tesco‘s.

Cheese is also his saviour in Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit; he is brought back to life with Stinking Bishop smelling salts.

And in Cracking Contraptions, The Snoozatron short film, he couldn’t sleep after eating his favourite food.

In an interview with Metro, Nick revealed where his cheese penchant came from: ‘I went about it all the wrong way around.

“As a student, I wanted him to go to the moon with Gromit, but I couldn’t think of a reason.

“It was more in retrospect because I did the first scene last, and I just – “Of course, the moon’s made of cheese!

“And then it became an obsession in all of the films.”

Vengeance Most Fowl is on December 25 on BBC One at 6.10pm.
