Who is Gypsy Rose? Meet the pregnant Life After Lockup star expecting her first child with Ken Urker

GYPSY Rose Blanchard was released from prison late last year after serving seven years for the second-degree murder of her mother in 2015.

Since her release the 32-year-old has been in the public eye and has capitalised on her new-found fame gathering more than nine million followers on TikTok.

Who is Gypsy Rose Blanchard?

Born on July 27, 1991, Gypsy Rose Blanchard is a former prisoner and Munchausen by proxy victim from Golden Meadow, Louisiana.

The daughter of Clauddine “Dee Dee” Pitre and Rod Blanchard, Gypsy’s mother, led her to believe she was sick most of her life.

Dee Dee deceived Gypsy and the people around her into believing she suffered from chronic medical conditions because the latter was born prematurely.

According to the late matriarch, her daughter suffered from leukemiaasthma, and muscular dystrophy.

Investigators and medical professionals have concluded that Gypsy’s mother most likely suffered from Munchausen syndrome by proxy.

MSbP is also known as Factitious Disorder Imposed on Another or FDIA.

On June 14, 2015, Dee Dee was found stabbed to death at her and Gypsy’s home.

On Tuesday, June 16 of the same year, Gypsy and her then-boyfriend Nicholas Godejohn were arrested in connection to her mother’s homicide.

When did Gypsy Rose and her ex-husband Ryan Anderson get married?

Gypsy married Ryan while she was still serving a ten-year sentence for co-conspiring to murder her mom.

They started talking in 2020 but only met in person for the first time a year later.

Gypsy and Ryan officially tied the knot in July 2022 and held a small ceremony with no guests.

The pair planned on having a proper celebration once Gypsy was released.

She told People Magazine how they wanted to have their “family and our friends and the dress and the cake and everything because we deserve that”.

Gypsy added: “Our prison wedding was just something where we can make our vows to each other.

However, the redo wedding never happened with Gypsy filing for divorce just three months after she was released.

Although she claimed she didn’t regret the relationship, the influencer admitted that she wished she hadn’t gotten married “in prison so fast”.

Do Gypsy Rose and Ryan Anderson have children?

While explaining her post-penitentiary plans, she revealed she looks forward to beginning a new life with her now-estranged husband, Ryan Scott Anderson.

Quickly after her release from prison, Gypsy Rose created an Instagram account where she famously shared selfies.

However, just months after her release, she deleted her Instagram account, prompting her millions of followers to worry.

After deleting her Instagram, Gypsy Rose confirmed on Facebook that she and Ryan were splitting up.

The pair were only married for a short while and never had any kids together.

Following her split from Ryan, Gypsy reconciled with her ex-fiancé Ken Urker and has since returned to social media.

In a since-deleted Instagram caption on May 26, Gypsy paid tribute to Ken, writing: “@kenurker I love you with all my heart.

“Every moment with you brings happiness that I never knew could be possible. We have a bright future ahead of us.”

On Saturday, May 4, 2024, Gypsy Rose was spotted leaving Los Angeles International Airport after visiting LA to promote her upcoming Lifetime reality series.

The show Gypsy-Rose: Life After Lock Up is focused on her life after being released from prison.

In addition to promoting her reality series, Gypsy Rose is getting ready to become a first-time mother.

On July 9, 2024, she took to Instagram to announce that she was pregnant and expecting their first child with Ken in January 2025.

At this time, additional details on her pregnancy are unknown.

Gypsy has also discussed how she came to forgive Dee Dee.

“I want to make sure that people in abusive relationships do not resort to murder,” the former inmate shared with People.

“It may seem like every avenue is closed off but there is always another way. Do anything, but don’t take this course of action.

“She [Dee Dee] was a sick woman and unfortunately I wasn’t educated enough to see that.

“She deserved to be where I am, sitting in prison doing time for criminal behavior.

“It’s a journey. I’m still really trying to come to a place of forgiveness for her, for myself and the situation.

“I still love my mom and I’m starting to understand that it was something that was maybe out of her control, like an addict with an impulse.

“That helps me with coping and accepting what happened.”
