Who is xQc aka Felix Lengyel? Streamer put $700k bet on Trump to lose election

ELECTION day is finally over after Trump won a seismic landslide victory.

Thousands gambled on the US election and while some look forward to a payout, streamer xQc has been left $700,000 short after betting Trump would lose.

Who is xQc, or Felix Lengyel?

xQc, or Felix Lengyel is a Canadian Twitch streamer, internet personality, and former professional Overwatch player.

Born November 12, 1995, he began his esports career in 2016, while also regularly streaming.

He played for the Dallas Fuel in the Overwatch League’s inaugural season – but was later released midway through the season due to repeated controversy and suspensions.

He also played for Team Canada in the Overwatch World Cup from 2017 to 2019.

After leaving competitive Overwatch, he began streaming on Twitch when he was 19 years old – playing League of Legends  under the alias xQcLoL.

He also began creating content for organisations such as Sentinels and Luminosity Gaming.

By May 2019, xQc had became one of the most successful variety streamers on Twitch.

He was announced as the most watched streamer on Twitch in both 2020 and 2021.

Despite his success on the platform, xQc has been temporarily banned a number of times, but still manages to keep his viewership in tact.

In early April 2022, xQc took part in the r/Place social experiment – an online canvas in which registered Reddit users could edit by changing the colour of a single pixel.

xQc broke his Twitch viewership record during the event, peaking at over 293,000 viewers – he then broke that record later that month while streaming a beta build of Overwatch 2, with a peak of over 312,000 viewers.

His Twitch channel currently has a huge 11.2 million followers.

What was xQc’s bet?

Like many other streamers, xQc watched the election results live on November 5 with his audience having made an eye-watering bet of $700,000 that Trump would lose.

This was confirmed a day prior by fellow streamer Destiny.

As votes began to tip towards Trump, xQc began cashing out his bets on Harris while viewers taunted him on the stream.

But, despite the unbelievable losses, xQc appeared to act relatively unphased in a group call with streamers like Kick co-founder Trainwreck.

He said to his audience: “Chat, sometimes losing is admitting defeat.

“And I’m f***ing admitting defeat.”

xQc also added that he regularly loses ginormous amounts while gambling and argued that it wasn’t a big deal for him.

He explained: “Guys, I lose between like $350, $400K, to like a million a day.

“And you’re gonna talk s*** about $700K? Brother. Peanuts stuck in the f***ing sofa, brother.”

How is xQc so rich?

xQc’s unbelievable wealth is no secret to online users which he got through his Twitch streams, YouTube channel and various brand deals.

The streamer famously bagged an unbelievable $100 million, non-exclusive deal with Kick in 2023.

He also makes eye-watering purchases like a $500,000 AP watch and various sports cars.

The only setback for the streamer appears to be his gambling.

Speaking to Logan Paul‘s Impaulsive podcast , xQc revealed he had likely lost $100 million to gambling.

He said: “I’m a diligent gambler, it’s gambling so the pays are really high, okay? But I’m dumb, okay, so yeah, I gamble a lot”.
