Zimbabwe Government Invites Gifted Students to Apply for 2024/25 Presidential Scholarships to Study at Foreign Universities
The Office of the President and Cabinet has officially opened applications for the Presidential and National Scholarships for the 2024/25 academic year, providing opportunities for disadvantaged yet talented students to study at foreign universities.
Scholarship Opportunities for Aspiring Students
According to a newspaper announcement, the scholarships aim to support academically gifted students, particularly those from rural areas across Zimbabwe’s ten provinces. The program covers undergraduate and postgraduate studies in fields such as Engineering, Health Sciences, Science and Technology, Agricultural Sciences, Management Science, Sports and Social and Human Sciences.
“The Presidential and National Scholarships Department in the Office of the Presidential and Cabinet invites applicants to register with the Department for Scholarship nomination for the 2024/2025 Academic Year. The registration process targets able but disadvantaged and academically gifted qualifying students mainly from rural areas of the country’s ten (10) Provinces, intending top pursue Underfraduate and Postgraduate studies at Foreign Universities,” reads part of the notice.
Criteria for Zimbabwe Govt 2024/25 Presidential Scholarships
Interested candidates must meet the following requirements:
For Undergraduate Applicants:
- Must have a minimum of 10 points at A-Level in subjects relevant to their chosen degree program.
- Should be 25 years old or below by January 31, 2025.
- Those applying for Science and Technology disciplines must have an A or B grade in a relevant A-Level science subject.
For Postgraduate Applicants:
- Master’s applicants must hold at least an Upper Second Class degree in their chosen field and be below 35 years old by January 31, 2025.
- PhD applicants must also hold an Upper Second Class degree and be below 40 years old by the same date.
